The PIE Privacy Policy
Purpose: To establish policies for ensuring the privacy of visitors to The PIE website.
Procedure: The PIE will not voluntarily disclose to any third party any personally identifiable information about visitors to its website without first receiving the visitor's permission. If, however, The PIE is compelled to reveal such information under process of law, it will cooperate fully, and in such case will not first seek the visitor's permission.
The PIE does not collect personally identifiable information from its web page visitors other than what is supplied on a voluntary basis. The PIE will not condition access to any portion of its website on the provision of personally identifiable information. Visitors to The PIE website may be invited to supply personally identifiable information, but The PIE will simultaneously offer an opportunity to decline or "opt-out" of providing such personally identifiable information. If visitors are invited to supply voluntary information. such as comments or suggestions submitted to the PIE, the extent of The PIE's use of the information will be explained at the time that the visitor supplies the information if at all possible.
The PIE is a general audience, family web site that complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act. The PIE does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under age 13. If we discover that a child under the age of 13 has provided us with any personally identifiable information, we will delete that information from our systems.
The PIE encourages parents to go online with their children. Parents should understand the sites their kids are visiting and which sites are appropriate. There are parental control tools available such as browsers and filtering software that prevent children from accessing inappropriate sites. Children should never give out personal information on the Internet, such as name, address, telephone number, or name of school, unless supervised by a parent or responsible adult. Look for a privacy policy on a web site and find out how information collected from children is treated. Parents should teach their children to look for sites that display a privacy policy.

Visitors should be aware, however, that any information that they may disclose in a public space such as a chat room, bulletin board, or personal Web site, is freely available to anyone else visiting that space. The PIE cannot safeguard any personally identifiable information that someone discloses in these locations, nor can it ensure that information someone may voluntarily supply to third parties remains private.
The PIE may have areas that may require a security procedure before the visitor or user may enter that area. Before the visitor may acquire the security elements required to access such an area, the visitor may be required by the PIE to provide personally identifiable information to the PIE both initially and on an ongoing basis.
The PIE will post a message on its website stating to visitors that their use of The PIE website signifies their agreement with the terms and conditions of The PIE's website privacy policy. The PIE will also post at the website a statement that states, in effect, that The PIE reserves the right, at its sole discretion and for any purpose whatsoever, to prospectively change, modify, add, or remove portions of its website privacy policy.
Visitors to The PIE’s website should be aware that any link to another website does not guarantee that this Privacy Statement governs the linked website. Visitors to any linked website should always review the Privacy Statement of any individual website to ascertain when and how that particular website host intends to use personally identifiable information. The PIE specifically disclaims any responsibility or liability for the use of personally identifiable information by any other website, whether linked to The PIE or otherwise.
