The Collin County Senior Services Network (SSN) is a comprehensive directory of services and products for seniors. By combining government agencies, non-profit organizations, faith-based services, local private businesses and Internet web sites into a single database, seniors and their caregivers will be able to find the best information possible.

We hope this first step to improve communications will improve efficiency and effectiveness through greater cooperation and coordination of senior services in our area.

Future plans include:

• the development of distance learning opportunities designed for seniors to expand their world
• an assistance self-help section to help people navigate the confusing world of programs and services available for seniors
• a telemedicine initiative with local hospitals to improve home care for seniors
• local discussion forums and live chat rooms for seniors in our area to get together online
• a senior marketplace to sell locally produced senior arts and crafts and serve as a group buying opportunity for seniors.

We also hope to be able to offer a private intranet or extranet for local senior service agencies and organizations to help them better serve our seniors.
