Jewish Family Services of Greater Dallas 24-Hr 972-437-9950 Gerontological support offered including Lifeline 24-Hr emergency response system, counseling, transportation for medical, homemaker services, guardianship and support groups, also food pantry.
National Eye Institute   Financial aid for eye care. Many state and national resources regularly provide aid to people with vision problems. The National Eye Institute, which supports eye research, does not help individuals pay for eye care. However, if you are in need of financial aid to assess or treat an eye problem, you might contact one or more of the following programs.

800-222-3937 After meeting eligibility requirements, persons 65+ without an ophthalmologist will be put in contact with one in their area for eye exams any treatments for conditions or diseases. Only the physician's services are included. Program does not cover items such as glasses, prescriptions or hospital services. Physicians accept insurance assignment as payment in full. No one is turned away for lack of insurance.

Dallas Dyslexia Information Group (DDIG) 214-351-1985 DDIG meets on the 2nd Monday of the month, except December, and the meeting is from 7:00 P.M. - 9:00 P.M. at Lovers Lane United Methodist Church. Bob Brooks, Administrative Facilitator. DDIG is an information group and not a support group.

Meals on Wheels 972-562-6996 Collin County Committee on Aging Meals on Wheels is a program that provides a daily (Monday through Friday) hot, nutritious noontime meal and personal contact to homebound elderly.
The National Council on the Aging NCOA is the nation's first association of organizations and professionals dedicated to promoting the dignity, self-determination, well being, and contributions of older persons.
Tel-Assistance 800-343-8353 Provides assistance with monthly telephone bills (basic charges only) for low-income persons who are at least 65 years of age and/or disabled. Can also provide information on LIFELINE program which includes discount for basic telephone services for persons on government assistance programs or who meet certain guidelines.
